MOMENTS | Mash-up: James Murphy Releases “We Used To Dance” From Noah Baumbach’s ‘While We’re Young’ Soundtrack

We’ve curated the best of digital age-inspired creativity—from user-generated content, mash-ups, and remixes to collaborations between multi-disciplined makers.

James Murphy, the mastermind behind the no longer active LCD Soundsystem, is collaborating with director Noah Baumbach to put together the soundtrack for the director’s upcoming feature, While We Were Young. Though the first Murphy track is titled “We Use To Dance,” it’s a melancholy and ambient piece that builds but doesn’t ever really reach the drop and release. It’s a lovely little number that will be featured alongside an instrumental rendition of David Bowie’s 1976 single “Golden Years,” cuts from Paul McCartney, HAIM, and A Tribe Called Quest.
