MOMENTS | Mash-up: You Won’t Be Able to Stop Watching Drake’s Bizarre But Mesmerizing Music Video For “Energy”

We’ve curated the best of digital age-inspired creativity—from user-generated content, mash-ups, and remixes to collaborations between multi-disciplined makers.

About a week ago, because the internet reveals all, Drake had a glorious casting call for a Rob Ford body, chubby siblings for an “awkward Drake family portrait,” and models. We knew we would be in for a treat, but the “Energy,” video, inspired by Michael Jackson’s “Black Or White,” is even better than we could have imagined. Okay, to be fair, we imagined that Drake was maybe going to play Rob Ford and a fashion model in the same video. The actual video involves some striking footage of Drake’s face transforming into and impersonating little kids, Oprah, Rob Ford, Benjamin Franklin, Obama, Justin Bieber, and more. It’s a fun and tongue-in-cheek way of poking fun at the way media handles celebrity disasters.

MOMENTS | Rehash: #TBT x Peter Lindbergh, Legendary Photographer, Brings Cinematic Elements Into His Work

We’ve curated the best of digital age-inspired creativity—from user-generated content, mash-ups, and remixes to collaborations between multi-disciplined makers.
We love the bold vision behind legendary black and white photographer Peter Lindbergh’s unique, cinematic approach. Since we’re going full #TBT here, and Halloween is coming right up, we’re throwing in our love for Lindbergh’s Hitchcock-inspired editorial, The Birds, featuring the equally cinematic Sasha Pivovarova. The idea of birds attacking people may seem a little silly, but as any city dweller knows, an incoming flocks of birds to the face is a very real terror.
