Hedi Slimane’s recent reincarnation of the iconic Parisian fashion house Saint Laurent (formally Yves Saint Laurent) has taken quite the rocker turn—just reference F/W 2013. But even if you’re a hater of the grunge-chic LA-influenced look, you have to admit Slimane’s getting attention, regardless of his straying away from the house’s recognizable persona. Any press is good press.
Keeping with the rocker-chic vibe, Slimane outfitted Daft Punk (who DJed his debut collection for Saint Laurent) in sparkly jackets and photographed the robots for the cover art for their upcoming album Random Access Memories—which was released May 21st.

We think this collaboration is the perfect mashup of current and historic, and the result? Sublimely “le smoking.”
