Staying relevant on the go.

1. London Fashion Week FW14 is underway! The incredible mind of Tim Blanks delivered a thought provoking review of Christopher Kane’s FW14 collection. Blanks described Kane’s collection as “[Never] just about this. There is also that…and that…and that. As one story was poking you, another was insinuating itself”.

Kane’s runway is a mesmerizing hybrid of unexpected textile combinations like nylon with guipure lace and fur with black nylon. And Kane brilliantly echoes his SS14 collection’s Georgia O-Keefe-esque floral imagery in his use of 3D, lens-like shapes.

2. David Koma’s FW14 collection presented a modern take on Lucas Cranach the Elder’s portrayal of women in the 16th century

3. BAMIN’s (Build And Make It Now) latest musical obsession? Lil B.

Download and listen to Lil B’s Basedworld Paradise Mixtape. Then watch him rock a floral blazer while throwing down sick beats. #basedgod

4. GIF-making can be an art form. Google+ and Saatchi Gallery have partnered to launch the Motion Photography Prize competition, which judges users’ gif-making expertise.

5. So which of NYFW’s trends are we seeing across the pond? No one can forget Rodarte’s Star Wars-printed Instagram-bait, and at LFW, Preen gave us dresses dedicated to the Sith Lord’s face—the effect made just a little less obvious by the collection’s dizzy prints.
