Staying relevant on the go.

1. Per usual, Miuccia Prada’s collection stole the whole damn show. And the entirety of Milan Fashion Week.

The FW14 runway remixes the greatest hits of the early ‘30s and ‘70s; Art Deco industrial prints were mixed in with the references to the German avant-garde of Werner Fassbinder‘s films.

2. Karl Lagerfeld’s FW14 collection for Fendi didn’t disappoint either. The show notes tell us the vision is brutal poetry, and vague as that may be, the result was a great blend of textiles—bonded mesh, tweed, and patchwork patent and leather bombers.

Though we all have to agree, the best part of this collection was the tiny fur replica of Karl Lagerfeld, held up by a gleeful Cara Delevingne.

3. Black Sky Blue Death takes the epic sound of Frank Ocean’s “Pyramid” and cranks it up to eleven in their remix.

4. Marvel at Alexandre Farto’s (AKA: Vhils) much-anticipated mural for POW! WOW! Hawaii 2014, an annual art festival that brings together artists from all over the world to create murals on the beige buildings of Honolulu.

5.“Putin Will Teach You How To Love”.  Russian punk art-collective Pussy Riot were whipped by Cossack militiamen when they tried to perform under a Sochi Olympics sign.

In true Pussy Riot form, the punk group  turned their experience in Sochi into a performance art video that addresses the government surveillance and security at the international event.
