Staying relevant on the go.
1. We’re obsessing over Marni’s FW14 collection. Lush furs are paired with neoprene, and military felt is combined with artisanal feathers and paillettes to absolutely nail sportswear with a couture edge.
4. Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon team up for the fifth installment of their History of Rap series. Watch it, then read Consequence of Sound’s rundown of all the artists and songs they covered.
JT’s impersonation of Kendrick Lamar’s vocals is pretty spot on.
5. Street artist and director Ralph Ziman collaborated with six Zimbabwean street vendors in inner city Johannesburg to create heavily beaded and colorful AK-47s.
The work—Ghosts—is a ‘tribute to the shady, overpowering and threatening presence of guns in African cities’. And all proceeds from the replicas’ sales will be donated to Human Rights Watch.
Photography of the project is currently on display at Los Angeles’ C.A.V.E. gallery.
