MOMENTS | Link up: Arthur Arbesser’s FW14 Video, Selfridges x Board Culture, M.I.A. Vs. The NFL, Ryan Hemsworth x The Underachievers, Alejandro Guijarro
Staying relevant on the go.
1. Arthur Arbesser’s FW14 collection was inspired by a mix of ‘80s furniture, architecture from the ‘20s and ‘30s, and Joy Division. See his video for the collection via Style.com.
2. Are you in London? Selfridges’ new concept store, The Board Room, is a space dedicated to all the SS14 collections—from limited edition Valentino backpacks to Kenzo’s SS14 eco-warrior collection—that riffed on streetwear.
Oh, and they’ve got over 1000 exclusive skate decks too.
3. The NFL, in its ongoing ridiculousness over the brief appearance of M.I.A.’s middle finger at the Super Bowl two years ago, is demanding $16.6 million from the artist.
We’re just going to let this M.I.A. quote speak for itself again: “It’s a massive waste of time, a massive waste of money, it’s a massive display of powerful corporation dick-shaking. They want me on my knees and say sorry so they can slap me on my wrist.”
5. Quantum mechanics becomes art in Momentum, artist Alejandro Guijarro’s photography project. Guijarro spent three years photographing post-lecture chalkboards from the quantum mechanics departments of Cambridge, Stanford, Berkeley and Oxford.
