We’ve curated the best of digital age-inspired creativity—from user-generated content, mash-ups, and remixes to collaborations between multi-disciplined makers.

Actress and musician Scarlett Johansson has a new “super-pop” girl group titled The Singles and has recruited Este Haim of Haim, Holly Miranda, Kendra Morris, and Julia Haltigan. Johansson has made forays into the musical world before, like 2009’s Pete Yorn collaboration Break Up, the 2008 Tom Waits tribute Anywhere I Lay My Head and contributed to a Serge Gainsbourg tribute album. More recently, she even covered New Order’s “Bizarre Love Triangle.” The Singles just released their first track, “Candy,” which was produced by TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek.

Johansson cites Grimes, the Bangles and the Go-Go’s as the major influences behind The Singles, and in a press release, Johansson explains, “The idea was to write super-pop dance music written and performed by girls. I wanted it to be like those bands: ultra-pop but also a little ironic, a little in on the joke.”

So listen to the super pop electro jam “Candy” and get excited to hear what this all-women supergroup will create.

Since The Single is brining the some of the best names in music, we’re mix & matching the best materials with this leopard, blue leather and blue neomesh overnight.
