MOMENTS | Mash-up: Future Islands Performed Two New Tracks, “The Chase” and “Haunted”
We’ve curated the best of digital age-inspired creativity—from user-generated content, mash-ups, and remixes to collaborations between multi-disciplined makers.
We’ve expressed our love for Future Islands’ rad collaged Singles LP cover art, and their stop motion collage music video for “A Dream of You and Me,” so we’re super stoked that the synth-pop band is teasing us with new material. Future Islands played a show in Sheffield last weekend, and previewed new songs “The Chase” and “Haunted.” “The Chase” shares the kind of upbeat and danceable energy that defined Singles, and the latter is a little more subdued and moodier, guitar-heavy number.
Future Islands is in residence at London’s Abbey Studios, working on the follow-up to 2014’s Singles LP. We’re always relieved when we know our favorite bands are putting together new music. Back in March, Samuel T. Herring also collaborated with Earl Sweatshirt for psychedelic underground rap duo Gangrene’s “Play It Cool.”
Happy hump day! Watch “The Chase” and “Haunted” below.
