Did you listen to Carly Rae Jepsen’s “I Really Like You” and think to yourself, “Damn, that’s catchy, but it can really use some edge.” Well, producer YITT, aka the genius/hero we didn’t know we needed, went and made a seamless mash-up of Carly Rae Jepsen’s “I Really Like You” and Nine Inch Nails’ “Head Like a Hole.” The mash-up is appropriately titled, “I Really Like a Hole” and is gloriously catchy. To be fair, Trent Reznor’s “Heard Like a Hole” has always had a pretty heavy pop melody going for it, so the mash-up works better than one would expect.

In case you missed it, you should also check out the Jeppo’s Saturday Night Live performance of her track, “All That.” Devonté Hynes (Solange, Sky Ferreira) and Ariel Rechtshaid produced the track ((Haim, Charli XCX), and the two also joined Jepsen on stage to debut the song on SNL. It’s pretty clear that the pop singer is very fond of ‘80s pop songs, and Jepsen has previously sited classic Prince as the inspiration behind “All That.”

It’s Monday, so get into the groove by listening to “I Really Like a Hole.” And if that doesn’t fill your earworm quotient for the week, go and watch Carly Rae Jepsen, Dev Hynes and Ariel Rechtshaid perform “All That.”

Trent Reznor would probably be down to kick it with a black leather duffel, but we’re sort of in a bubblegum pop music kind of mood too, so we’re mixing in some pink neomesh.
